Indulge in A Slice Of Fluffy Chocolate Cake

Can you believe we are in the last quarter of 2021? It’s time to start planning your holiday menu and make the 2021 holiday season epic! As a little girl, I remember not being a fan of chocolate cake because it was always dry with no special taste.
Well, on more than one occasion, one of my aunts made this Hershey’s “Perfectly Chocolate” Chocolate Cake, and I owe my now chocolate addition to her. I can guarantee that once you taste this super moist chocolate cake, you will see what the excitement is all about, and why it’s a family favorite!
The Origin of Chocolate
Whether it is because of the steamy cup of hot chocolate on a Christmas morning, or our obsession with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’s golden bar, we are all wired to fall in love with the heavenly treat. Although you will find hundreds and thousands of chocolate bars and recipes all around the world, you can’t help but wonder…Where did chocolate come from?
Well apparently, the history of chocolate dates all the way back to Mesoamerica, or present-day Mexico. The earliest civilizations in Latin America, the Olmec, used chocolate in rituals and as medicine.
On the other hand, the Mayans considered chocolate to be a drink of the gods… yeah, I can relate to that! Also, at some point in history, chocolate was used as currency. People drank it to prepare beverages, as an aphrodisiac, or simply a beverage for enjoyment.
Well, whatever the origin, benefit, or usage of chocolate was, all we need to know is that it is good for the soul!
Other Variations of This Recipe
I know that nothing beats my special holiday Red Velvet Cookies, and nothing screams Christmas like my Peanut Butter Chocolate Chippers recipe. And yeah maybe my December special 3 Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies are absolutely marvelous. However, I am being completely honest when I say that when it comes to chocolate treats, nothing beats this fluffy Hershey’s “Perfectly Chocolate” Chocolate Cake.
But imagine the wildest scenario where you are craving the addictive taste, but not necessarily with the same presentations, then why don’t you try these other variations of the recipe? Try this chocolate goodness as a one-layer cake, cupcakes, cookies, or Bundt cake. You can also substitute some ingredients with gluten-free and dairy-free products that suit your needs.
A Slice of Heaven!

Tips to Consider
- Use room temperature ingredients. Make sure your ingredients, especially eggs, are at room, temperature. This will allow the ingredients to blend well, and the cake to rise properly.
- If you are not sure of your pan’s loyalty and think that it may leave you with burnt edges and bottom, then line the bottom of your pan with parchment paper.
- Stick to the measurement of the ingredients of the chocolate cream cheese icing. If you want your icing to have the right consistency and texture, then make sure you follow the recipe as it is mentioned.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
It is pretty simple really. Those little pieces are basically butter that broke out of the batter because the fats were too cold. To avoid that, make sure your ingredients are at room temperature before mixing.
I honestly can’t stress this enough, but you have to allow your cake to rest before you cut into it. Allow the chocolate cake the chance to cool down and the flavors to settle in, or you are going to end up with chocolate goo on the counter.
To attain an evenly spread cake, you have to get rid of any air bubbles in the batter mix. Simply, pour your batter in the pan and smack it on the counter a few times.
