Have you ever had a cake stick to the pan before? If it happened to you, then trust me, using my homemade cake release recipe will guarantee you the most perfect muffins, cakes, and breads every time you bake!
Baking is one of my hobbies and I got this passion from my Mum! I’ve been into baking since I was a little girl. So when in 2021 I had my first cake sticking in the pan, I immediately asked my Mother, my Grandmother, my Aunts, and close friends to see what I was doing wrong.
Then, one of my baker friends recommended using this homemade cake release with Crisco instead of baking spray. Honestly, I can’t thank her enough because it was a huge winner! And since then I use it all the time! Get ready to have the best homemade cake release recipe ever!

Ideal Baking Spray

Simple Ingredients
Crisco
Cooking Oil
All Purpose flour
Easy Directions
Homemade cake release consists of a simple ratio of equal parts flour, vegetable oil, and shortening. I use a half cup of each, but you can make as much or as little as you like!
So, combine all three ingredients in a bowl and mix well. At first the mixture will look lumpy, but you really need to whip it well to get all those lumps out. You can do this by hand or use a mixer.
You can store this homemade cake release in glass mason jars.
