Hey y’all! If you’re planning a brunch, spring celebration, or Easter gathering, I’ve got the perfect drink to add a pop of color and flavor to your table: the Creamsicle Mimosa! This fun and refreshing twist on the traditional mimosa brings a creamy, fruity surprise to your champagne flute by swapping out orange juice for sweet, tangy orange sherbet. It’s the perfect blend of nostalgic flavor and grown-up sparkle—and yes, you can absolutely make it a mocktail too!

Whether you’re hosting a brunch, a baby shower, or just enjoying a relaxing weekend with friends, this bubbly treat is sure to impress. It’s a favorite in our house and I’m sure it’ll become one in yours! Cheers to creamy, citrusy goodness!

    Ingredients for a Creamsicle Mimosa

    ingredients for creamsicle mimosas

You only need a few simple ingredients to create this festive cocktail:

    • Orange sherbet (keep it frozen until ready to serve)
    • Sparkling wine or champagne (I love Moscato D’Asti or Trader Joe’s Sparkling Brut!)
    • Fresh fruit for garnish (oranges, strawberries, raspberries)

How to Make a Creamsicle Mimosa

    Step-by-Step Instructions

Chill the Champagne: Make sure your sparkling wine or champagne is ice-cold before serving for maximum fizz and flavor.

Scoop the Sherbet: Place 1-2 small scoops of orange sherbet into a champagne flute.

Add the Bubbles: Slowly pour your sparkling wine or champagne over the sherbet. It will foam up a bit—that’s part of the fun!

Garnish: Add a slice of orange, a strawberry, or a few fresh raspberries for a beautiful finishing touch.

Serve Immediately: These are best served right away while the sherbet is still frosty and bubbly.

Why You’ll Love This Sherbet Mimosa Recipe

🎉 Fun & Festive: The bright orange color and creamy texture make this drink stand out at any celebration.

☕️ Brunch-Ready: Perfect for Easter brunch, baby showers, bridal parties, or springtime get-togethers.

🥂 Customizable: Use different flavors of sherbet or swap the bubbly for sparkling cider to make it kid-friendly.

🍒 Easy to Make: With just two main ingredients, this is one of the easiest cocktails you’ll ever whip up.

Tips for the Best Creamsicle Mimosas

    • Keep Everything Cold: Chilled glasses, frozen sherbet, and cold champagne are the key to keeping your mimosa refreshing.
    • Serve Immediately: Don’t prepare too far in advance. The sherbet melts quickly, so make these just before serving.
    • Try Flavored Bubbles: A peach or raspberry sparkling wine adds another layer of fruity flavor.
    • Make a Mimosa Bar: Set up a station with different sherbet flavors and sparkling options so guests can mix their own.

    Flavor Variations to Try

Rainbow Sherbet Mimosa: Use rainbow sherbet for a colorful, fruity twist.

Berry Cream Mimosa: Try raspberry or strawberry sherbet with a splash of cranberry juice.

Mocktail Version: Use sparkling water, ginger ale, or non-alcoholic sparkling cider instead of champagne.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make this mimosa ahead of time?

It’s best served fresh! You can pre-chill your flutes and have ingredients ready to go, but assemble just before serving.

Can I use ice cream instead of sherbet?

You can, but ice cream will melt faster and create a heavier drink. Sherbet gives that tangy citrus flavor and melts into a smooth, frothy layer

    Is this suitable for kids?

It can be! Just use a non-alcoholic bubbly like sparkling apple cider or Sprite and it becomes a fun mocktail.
