History of the Coffee Martini
Rumour has it that in the year 1983 at Soho Brasserie in London, a customer entered the bar and requested a drink that would instantly wake her up. The bartender considered giving her coffee; however, Vodka was a people’s favourite back then, and the rest is history!
If you’re looking for a wonderful treat with a satisfyingly smooth foam and a fragrant yet sweet finish, the aromatic Chocolate Coffee Martini with its boozy layers is a must try!
What is a Martini?
A Martini is an alcoholic drink that has Vodka as its base ingredient. It’s typically garnished with olives as a finishing touch!
Martinis are strong-tasting drinks that have a deep spicy flavour. They have evolved and started to include other flavours and combinations that are a must have during special occasions.
This drink is creamy yet very refreshing. With so many flavours that mellow down the spicy taste of the Martini, chocolate adds so much flavour and texture to this cocktail and provides a perfect balance between the sweet and bitter.
A Decadent Cocktail
Chocolate and alcohol is a combination that works so well to produce a drink with a silky smooth texture. As the chocolate in this cocktail starts to melt slightly, it flavours your drink with all the chocolate goodness.
With leftover coffee to spare, Kahlua, a dash of chocolate, and any coffee-flavoured liqueur, you can create a quick drink that is great for parties!

Tips for the Best Drink!
Don’t forget to layer the ingredients of your drink in the same order!
Ensure that all your ingredients, including the vodka, coffee liqueur, and cold brewed coffee, are chilled before mixing. This will help keep the cocktail cold and refreshing.
Serve your Chocolate Coffee Martini in a chilled martini glass. Pre-chill the glass in the freezer beforehand to keep the cocktail at an optimal temperature.
Chocolate Coffee Martinis are best enjoyed immediately after preparation to savour the flavours at their peak. Avoid letting the drink sit for too long, as the ice may melt and dilute the flavours.
Add a huge amount of ice and fill the cocktail shaker with ice.
Don’t forget to use coffee for garnish!

Variations of this Easy Beverage
Variation 1: You can substitute your Smirnoff with Galliano (Italian liquor with vanilla)! How about you use readily-available coffee? I always have instant espresso or fresh espresso in my pantry! Pair it with Godiva chocolate liqueur or Galliano for an amazing burst in flavours.
Variation 2: Use the vanilla vodka or vodka, add instant espresso or fresh espresso, and lots of cream or heavy cream. Then drizzle the whole thing with chocolate syrup!
Don’t forget to add coffee beans for garnish!

How to Clean Martini Glasses?
Do not use hot water to clean your wine and Martini glasses. Leaving water in the glasses overnight helps get rid of the leftover wine if you’re planning on cleaning them tomorrow. Handle each glass with care!
Make sure you don’t twist them too much while washing!
