Fall is finally here, and with the cooler weather settling in, it’s the perfect time to indulge in comfort food and seasonal baking. As the leaves change color and the air turns brisk, many of us start craving warm, cozy recipes. Not only is it apple season, but it’s also the ideal moment to bring out classic desserts that everyone will love. My easy apple crisp with cake mix is the perfect dessert to welcome and celebrate fall!

The weather is getting cooler and it’s time for comfort cooking, apple season, and baking! As we transition into autumn, you might be wondering what there is to look forward to. Personally, I love the crisp air, vibrant fall foliage, and the joy of decorating my home for the season. In addition, this time of year reminds me of special childhood memories—especially those spent in the kitchen with my mom, who was a teacher.

Growing up, my mom would always collect and share recipes with her fellow teachers. I remember thinking how fun it was to swap tried-and-true favorites, creating a sense of community around food. Inspired by her tradition, I decided to do the same with my coworkers and friends. In fact, this apple crisp recipe is one I discovered at a friend’s housewarming party. After the first bite, I was hooked! Once I realized how simple it was to make, I fell in love with the recipe even more.

Now, I want to share this easy apple crisp with you, so you can enjoy it with your loved ones. With just a few basic ingredients and easy steps, it’s sure to become a fall favorite in your kitchen as well. Happy baking!

    Simple Apple Crisp Recipe

    • 2 packages of Jiffy Golden Yellow cake mix
    • 5 Granny Smith apples
    • ½ cup of granulated sugar
    • 2 tablespoons cinnamon
    • ½ cup of butter
    • 1 cup chopped nuts

How to Make Easy Apple Crisp

First, preheat your oven to 350°F. While the oven is heating, peel and slice your Granny Smith apples. Next, layer the apples in a greased baking dish. Then, in a small bowl, mix the sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle evenly over the apples. This step brings out the natural sweetness of the fruit and adds a warm spice flavor.

After that, pour the Jiffy Golden Yellow cake mix over the cinnamon-sugar apples, spreading it out to cover them completely. Melt the butter and drizzle it over the cake mix layer. For a finishing touch, sprinkle the chopped nuts on top, which adds a delightful crunch and nutty flavor.

Finally, bake the apple crisp for about 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apples are tender. Serve warm, perhaps with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence!

From my kitchen to yours, Happy Baking!

This apple crisp is incredibly easy to make, making it perfect for busy fall days or last-minute get-togethers. Moreover, it’s a great way to use up extra apples from apple picking trips. The combination of tart apples, sweet cake mix, and crunchy nuts is simply irresistible.

So, as you embrace the fall season, don’t forget to treat yourself and your family to this delicious apple crisp. It’s a wonderful way to create lasting memories and enjoy the best flavors autumn has to offer. Let me know in the comments below what you’re looking forward to this fall, and if you try this recipe, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
