Spring and Summer Activity: Strawberry Picking!
Hello May, and happy Sunday Funday!
Fresh strawberry season is here, and that gives us the opportunity to make sweet memories with family and friends, have cute photoshoots, and make yummy recipes (preferably with the strawberries we will be picking)!
I have always loved strawberries ever since I was a little girl. One of the sweetest memories I have is of my mother sprinkling sugar on my strawberries before I eat them. I guess old habits die hard, because I still use sugar to this day!
Because of my love for strawberries, I decided to try and pick some for my own! I picked strawberries for the first time in Birmingham, AL in 2020, and I can honestly say that it has me spoiled! The taste of fresh strawberries is amazing compared to store-bought ones!
After reading ahead, you will definitely want to visit one of the strawberry picking farms I will be recommending if you are in Birmingham, AL or somewhere close. And you will definitely thank me for the fun time and yummy strawberries you will be having!
Fresh From The Farm!
Why You Should Go Strawberry Picking
To start off, May is National Strawberry month so you must celebrate this! I thought it would be the perfect time to share some amazing u-pick strawberry farms in Alabama. I immediately fell in love with u-pick farms and the process of picking and gathering fresh vegetables and fruits after the wonderful experience I had strawberry picking!
It is also no surprise that freshly picked fruits and vegetables taste better. Freshly picked strawberries are ripe, red, juicy, and taste amazingly different! Once you go strawberry picking, you can never turn back! Gone are the days of store-bought fruits, this experience will have you hooked for life! Trust me!
Also, I love how you can create so many amazing strawberry recipes with fresh strawberries! The flavor these strawberries add to your recipes is worth the trip to one of these u-pick farms! Using the strawberries I picked, I created a no bake strawberry pie, quick and easy strawberry shortcake, and my aunt made fresh strawberry preserves. Yum!
Finally, picking strawberries or other fruits will make for the perfect spring/summer family activity! Get your family and friends together and make it a day full of fun in the sun a you pick delicious fruits! You will get a much-needed dose of vitamin D, have some cute photoshoots with the strawberry shoots, and savor your picked strawberries after a day full of fun!
A Great Way to Enjoy The Day!
