    Ingredients

    For the Cake

    • 1 box chocolate cake mix
    • 1 box brownie mix
    • 5 large eggs
    • 1 ¼ cups milk
    • 1 cup oil
    • 3–4 tablespoons sour cream

    For the Chocolate Glaze

    • ¼ cup milk
    • ¼ cup butter
    • 3 cups powdered sugar
    • ¼ cup cocoa powder
    • ½ cup chocolate chips

    Instructions

    Step 1: Prepare the Batter

Preheat your oven to 325°F. Grease a bundt pan or 9×13 baking dish.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix and brownie mix. Add eggs, milk, oil, and sour cream. Mix until smooth and well combined, but do not overmix.

    Step 2: Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into your prepared pan and spread evenly.

Bake for 45–55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Allow the cake to cool slightly before adding the glaze.

Step 3: Make the Chocolate Glaze

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine milk and butter. Stir until melted.

Whisk in cocoa powder and powdered sugar until smooth. Add chocolate chips and continue stirring until melted and glossy.

    Step 4: Glaze the Cake

While the glaze is still warm, pour it over the cake to create a rich drizzle. Let it set before serving.

Tips for the Best Chocolate Brownie Cake

    • Don’t overbake—this cake is best when slightly fudgy in the center
    • Use a good quality cocoa powder for a richer chocolate flavor
    • Add extra chocolate chips to the batter for even more indulgence
    • Let the glaze cool slightly if you want a thicker drizzle

    Variations

    • Chocolate Lovers: Add 1 cup chocolate chips to the batter
    • Mocha Flavor: Add 1 teaspoon espresso powder
    • Caramel Drizzle: Drizzle caramel sauce over the chocolate glaze
    • Nuts: Fold in chopped pecans or walnuts for crunch

    How to Store

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to 5 days. Warm slices in the microwave for that fresh-out-the-oven taste.
