1cupWater or Sprite(or substitute with ½ cup water + ½ cup peach juice)
1-2tablespoonsVanilla
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
Cut peaches into 8 slices if they aren’t already cut. Open crescent rolls, then separate each roll.
Place each peach slice on the wide end of each triangle, roll each peach slice in the crescent roll, and tuck the ends in. Make sure each roll covers the peach slice. Place each roll in a glass baking dish
Combine water, sugar, and butter in a medium saucepan. Heat over medium heat until the butter melts and the sugar dissolves, then remove from the heat and add vanilla extract.
Pour the liquid mixture over your dumplings in a glass dish and sprinkle some cinnamon, sugar, or even pecans on top.
Bake at 350°F for 35–40 minutes. When your peach dumplings are ready to be served, sprinkle some cinnamon, sugar, and brown sugar on top to your liking.
Notes
1. Keep the Crescent Rolls Cold: Crescent rolls are much easier to work with when they’re cold. Keep them in the fridge until you’re ready to use them to prevent the dough from becoming too sticky and difficult to handle.2. Add a Touch of Spice: Enhance the flavor of your peach dumplings by adding a sprinkle of cinnamon, nutmeg, or even a dash of ginger to the sugar mixture. This will add a warm, aromatic depth to the dessert.3. Use Peach Juice: If you prefer a stronger peach flavor, replace the water with peach juice from the can. This will infuse the dumplings with extra peachy goodness.4. Don’t Skip the Vanilla: Adding vanilla extract to the syrup mixture enhances the overall flavor of the dumplings. For a gourmet touch, use vanilla bean paste or a splash of almond extract instead.5. Make Ahead: You can assemble the peach dumplings ahead of time and keep them in the refrigerator until you’re ready to bake. This makes them perfect for dinner parties or busy weeknights.6. Reheat Leftovers: If you have any leftovers, reheat them in the oven at 350°F for about 10 minutes to regain that fresh-from-the-oven taste and texture.
